Newt was planning the takeover of the house way back when, he and his cohorts Vin Weber, Bob Walker and others used to give speeches on the house floor and accuse democrats of some of the most horrendous things and then call on them to stand and defend the accusations they had just hurled at them without one democrat taking them up on their offer and standing to defend. Come to find out, there were no democrats on the floor, the commander of the coup D'état was making the accusations to an empty chamber for the sole purpose of misleading the American public into thinking there were indeed democrats there and were just too ashamed to defend the outlandish lies Newt and company had just told. Now there's a poster child for ethical conduct if ever I saw one.
Oh by the way Newt, The casino owner from Las Vegas gave you Super Pac five million dollars in south Carolina and now his wife has thrown in five million more for Florida, what exactly do they get in return if you are elected president?
Just wondering! Remember Newt! You can run, but you cannot hide! Happy days are here again.
From Tammy Maygra 1/20/12 In response to a letter to the editor in the Spotlight.
Mrs. Bonar everyone knows you did not write 5-209, what we do know is that you ask the current board of CHD directors to sell you the Millard Rd. property for $1.00. The entire board of directors refused to do so, stating that their objective was to sell the property at a fair market value and credit the taxpayers the funds. I am proud to be on the CHD board in adhering to our promise to the taxpayers. And for doing everything we can, to do what is right for the taxpayers. Why would you Mrs. Bonar expect to be sold a $3.3 million valued property for $1 dollar other than to personally gain in some respect from the exchange?
Your mudslinging and sour grapes must be because the CHD board refused your ridiculous offer, and attempt to control the property which you mentioned that you wanted to go to the city of St. Helens or the county for a park, instead of crediting the funds back to the taxpayers, Fortunately your actions did not go unnoticed by the board nor has it gone unnoticed by the taxpayers in the health district. Your actions are no less honest or honorable than the previous health board. They gave CHD funds designated for a critical access hospital to public health and to a private foundation just like you took funds collected for expenses associated for 5-209 and donated them in your own name to the Humane Society and to the Food bank; I guess the appearance of a thief can be worn in many different masks.
As for not being a unified group, there is nothing further from the truth. Mrs. Bonar has chosen not to participate in the recent developments simply because she did not get her way and was not given the Millard Rd. property for one dollar.
There is not one person to my knowledge on the current CHD board who are aspiring to higher elected positions, we are not seasoned politicians nor do we want to be, we are just common people trying to do what is right for the people who are in the special district. There are people who disagree with us and there are people who agree, as goes any issue. But the majority of the voters demanded a credit to their taxes from the sale/liquidation of CHD assets and that is what we are trying to accomplish.
Best regards,
From Tammy Maygra 1/16/12 It's not only disgraceful and inappropriate but shows the lack of intelligence and level headed thinking to have a Columbia County Commissioner (Earl Fisher) threaten other elected officials with criminal warrant and arrest as he did at the end of the Wednesday commissioners meeting dated January 11, 2012. Fisher, did not respond to any comments or questions at the regular meeting when CHD chairperson Tammy Maygra addressed the board of commissioners about a problem they had at the clerk's office while filing documents. These documents were pertinent to their Circuit Court cases regarding the CHD Millard Rd. property, the legitimate trustees, and a taxpayer law suit.
While attempting to file the required document, members of the CHD board, a trustee and Nancy Whitney, facilitator, were thwarted from filing their document. The clerk's office refused to accept their document, stating that they had to be approved by Betty Huser, County Clerk, (all documents were in accordance with the requirements) and after a lengthy conversation with an employee in the clerk's office the employee decided she would copy the document for us. While she was copying the document, she (without permission from any of the parties) sent the document to County Counsel's office for inspection, legality, and simply a heads up on what the CHD board was filing. After realizing what had happened the CHD board members had a heated discussion with the employee; a trustee and the facilitator went to County Counsel's office and demanded the return of their property; and also had a heated exchange with Commissioner Heimuller. Heimuller e- mailed the Clerk's office and said to file the document. The damage was done. At that time the Clerk's office employee told the CHD board members and Nancy Whitney that she had orders to send everything which the CHD brought in to file to county counsel.
Under ORS 205 County Clerk, nowhere does it state that it is the duty of the Clerk to pass documents to County Counsel for inspection. This was done by the command of either the commissioners or County Counsel. Secondly, the clerk is an independent elected position and does not have to answer to the Commissioners. So when she sent the documents up to the County Counsel it is apparent that the Commissioners, County Counsel and the Clerk were working in collusion against another government agency in order to gain the upper
