A Vactor sewer cleaning vehicle.
OK Folks… What Did You Do With The Vactor Truck Bucks?

The City insists that it is short of money.  Things have not gone as well for them as they would have liked.   This year has not been good for them, they blew a bunch of money buying property from friends, and now the feds and state are breathing down their necks because of alleged deficiencies with their water and sewer systems… Oh and let us not forget impending law suits.  Financial shortfalls may mean that they may be laying people off and the rumor is rife that they will be shutting down City Parks and the City Library.

For some reason they now seem to have a problem locating money that they thought they had.  In a slick attempt to follow up on last years $800,000.00 duplication error,  the City seems to have attempted to solve their budget woes this year by sneaking across the $250,000.00 that had accumulated in a sinking fund for the purchase of a new city Public Works VACTOR ( Suck Truck ).

Sly as it may seem, the missing money is the chit chat at city hall.  Some people seem to think that the issue will be covered up as nicely as was the $800,000.00 boo boo that they made last year.   Others seem to think that the city might exercise some candor and let the public know that all is not roses down at City Hall.   Stand by and let us see if our City Councils new PhD in Economics can unravel their screw ups, smooth out their peccadilloes and set our City on the honest, straight and narrow.

As it stands now, even if the city were not in financial trouble a lost quarter of a million dollars for a suck truck sucks…

… I am sure that there will be more yet to follow.
