Japan has decided to ignore international pleas from concerned groups and nations to stop the killing of whales. Japan continues their destruction of endangered whales, adding bigger species to their long list. Japan says they are only taking whales for research purposes, a statement that these killers have been using for decades. Instead these cold blooded killers are killing these magnificent creatures for one thing, greed. The slain whales are chopped up on processing vessels at sea than transported back to Japan when they have killed many whales the meat is than taken to butcher shops where it is sold, restaurants are now adding whale meat back to the menu at a high price.

These whalers kill whales with a new high-tech fragmentation harpoon, equipped with an enlarged charge of high explosive, to help to slaughter endangered whales in the seas around Antarctica. Japan shows no mercy to any age or size of whale, they will kill an infant as quickly as they do adults. This new device is being used to kill humpback and fin whales.

The explosive harpoons propel shards of metal through the whale's body to sever major nerves and blood vessels and hopefully cause rapid death. The Japanese claim that the standard harpoon used to kill smaller whales would not be able to cause a swift death to larger whales. Being said it only proves that the Japanese want to increase whale hunts for more larger species. The new weapon uses a "warhead" to penetrate the thickest layers of skin, blubber and bone. The body of the harpoon has also been redesigned, using research from modern day battlefield weapons, so that it shatters into sharper fragments. Information obtained from the International Whaling Commission, it can take up to 14 minutes for a whale that has had a grenade explode inside its body to die.

Japan announced last year that its whaling fleet would kill 50 endangered humpback whales and 50 fin whales, along with the 935 Minke whales that it would catch within the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary around Antarctica this season. Japan ignores the safety of the sanctuary for whales. Japan is a modern day locus on the worlds seas.

There is no reason in the modern day world to slaughter whales, we do not need their oil for lamps we do not need the meat, we do not need to use them for research projects. In fact I would like to know just what the Japanese are researching they never seem to say.

Some people think that the environmentalists who are trying to stop the senseless killing of whales are whack jobs, personally I support their attempts to save the whales from these killers Japan will stop at nothing until every last whale is gone then they will start on another species.

Common sense doe not prevail when it comes to Japanese people these are the very same people who have nearly wiped out a species of shark because they want to eat the fins. I called them simply stupid.
