UNION protesters march against the anti union, union busting, corporate
EGT grain terminal and Union Rats of local 701 at the Port of Longview

Corporations hate unions and will do anything to stop any union activity. A classic example of anti union maneuvers by corporate thugs erupted in Longview Washington, on port property at the entrance of the newly built grain terminal. The Longshoremen's union has finally had enough of union breaking moves by a corporation that has been on the public dole since inception, and is tired of the predatory union local 701 Operating Engineers stealing the longshoreman's work. Local 701 is nothing more than Union Rats, and that is worse than non-union Rats.

EGT development is a joint venture of a Japanese based Itochu Corp and South Korea's
STX Pan Ocean and St Louis based Bunge North America. These greedy corporations promised good jobs to get what they wanted. EGT got a special state tax exemption, a sweet deal from the Port of Longview, to build the 200 million grain terminal. The government went as far as to seize adjacent property to add a bit more to the huge giveaway pot.

But as soon as the formalities were finished the corporate greed busted out, even though there were hundreds of skilled union tradesmen available to work in the area, EGT imported construction workers from out of state low wage areas and did not pay area standard wages. Local unions hollered until they were hoarse, unfortunately their voices fell on deaf ears.

After the terminal was built EGT ignored the labor agreement between the Port of Longview and ILWU local 21 to hire union labor on its leased site. EGT the multinational corporation hired non union workers citing that they would save millions which was nothing more than a bald faced lie something that you would expect from a union busting corporation

EGT is suing the Port over the labor agreement, what a joke, a multinational corporation that is subsidized by public tax dollars on publicly owned property is suing the public so they will not have to pay area standard wages. Then to add fuel to the fight they hired another union to cross another unions picket lines, just what corporations like to do, is to get union workers to fight against one another so both sides lose

I am
ashamed of local 701, and I would black ball these union rats from every job in the future, I would picket any and all jobs that Local 701 is affiliated with. It is bad enough that the working class has to fight against the rich and greedy corporations that run the world but to have to fight against another union that is taking their jobs is shameful

I am surprised that similar events like the ones that happened in Longview has not happened sooner and all over America, it is time that we the working class take back our jobs and our country from corporate America, if we don't things will only get worse, we will have only low wage jobs, if we have jobs at all, and we will be at the complete mercy of all corporations, we must stand together as one and we must make changes happen, NOW, and if that means picket lines, or shutting down grain terminals, or any other terminal then it must be done.

WE MUST TAKE BACK AMERICA AND STAND UP FOR WORKERS.

I stand in solidarity with my union brothers and sisters.
