Campaign Trail Update

I thought that I would give a short report from the campaign trail. Things are looking pretty darn good these days. People seem to be happy that Brady and I are running for county commissioner. After all it takes two for change and that is exactly what we want to do, change things for the better. People that we have talked to in Vernonia, Clatskanie, Rainier and in-between on to St. Helens and Scappoose are telling us that they want new people in as commissioners. We could not agree more. Hyde will be in 20 years if he is elected again. Fisher is on his second term and people are say'en they think Fisher has a nasty attitude and is rude to the public and that he should have stayed retired. Comments about Hyde are- people feel he is a pompous individual that knows everything just ask him, and they are tired of him traveling out of state to destinations clear across the country. They also feel that he has been in too long, that he is a career politician.

Again I could not agree more.

Our unique design on our campaign signs is also noted by people when we talk to them while we are handing out flyers. Some people recognize our names from our signs or from letters to the editor, or from the hospital debacle that we are still fighting on behalf of the people. Other people simply say we know who you are and we thank you for what you are doing. We don't need a flyer we are voting for both of you. And that one comment makes Brady and me quite happy.

I can assure the public that I will not be a career politician after I am elected. I can assure you that I will work hard for the public. The public will come first in my decision making and I am just a common ordinary person and no better than anyone else in the community. I can assure you that I will not be giving $33 million in tax giveaways to huge corporations.  I will be fair to all the people in the county. I have no desire for higher political ambitions; I will not owe my soul to anyone with political clout or too a corporation. I won't make promises that I might not be able to keep. One promise I will make to you is when I am elected I will never mislead the public and I will be forth right and to the point on issues. After all I will be working for you.
