Young or Old it's your right To Vote

The republicans are trying to make it harder for young voters and minority's to participate in the upcoming election for president. The republicans must feel that their pitiful candidate for president must have any type of help he can get in order to stand a chance against president Obama. While the republicans gave sent out thousands of notices that the person addressed were going to be unable to vote and that they must prove that they are eligible. The republicans sent out this type of letter to a 91 year old lifelong democrat and an America who served in the Battle of the Bulge and who earned the Bronze Star as a medic in the Battle of the Bulge, and was honored by France with its Chevalier Legion of Honour. The war hero has thirty days to prove his citizenship or he will be stricken from the voting rolls.

The reason the republicans are doing this in Florida is because they feel that it is going to be a tight race and they want to try and make sure that the race will open up if there are less eligible democrats allowed to vote. I suppose the republicans will once again try and steal the presidency as they did when George bush was appointed president by the right wing supreme court. The mistake that Gore made in that event called an election and recount is that he should have demanded a recount for the entire state of Florida instead of a few counties.

People should be up in arms against the republicans and their weasel like tactics. In my opinion I think that we should go back to the voting booth at the polls where you actually mark the ballot with a pencil and the ballot should be hand counted. Even if we have to make smaller precincts and have a national day for voting and the voting day should be a full twenty four hours so everyone gets to vote after all it is your right and duty as an American. I also believe that all voting registration rules should be uniformed nationwide.
