As the election draws near I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the people who contributed money to my campaign it was greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank everyone who walked door to door and did phone banks on my behalf I could not have gotten this far without your help. It has been a pleasure working with everyone and also meeting and talking to each and every person these last months. I think we have a great chance of winning this election. Win or lose it has been an experience of a lifetime and I am grateful that I had the chance to participate in our democracy.

As you know we have an uphill battle going against a sixteen year entrenched career politician. His war chest is over flowing with money and his backers are some of the corporations and special interests that he has done special favors for. He is openly supported by our democratic State Senator Betsy Johnson and Democratic Representative Brad Witt.

After all this is America and you can support or not support any candidate you want. The only thing I find a little odd is that two democrats who proclaim that they are for the working people would support a person whose track record clearly shows that he is on the side of corporate America. Some of the unions gave this man who openly speaks against Davis Bacon and Little Davis Bacon their endorsement on the advice of Mr. Witt.

The difference between my opponent and me is that I do not owe my soul to the company store so to speak. I am my own person and I will make decisions that benefit the people of Columbia County and not corporations or special interest groups. Most importantly I will not do the bidding of one state Senator or Representative. My loyalty will lie with the people.

I will hold town hall meetings so working people can attend them and also have commissioner meetings in the evening  including at the other cities in the county, after all Rainier, Clatskanie and Vernonia are in Columbia County and the people in those areas should be included in their government.

I will admit that I am not a politician nor do I want to be. I am a person who will work hard, be honest, and transparent in the workings of county government, and will always treat everyone right. We all live in this county and what happens here affects all of us. If you have not already cast your vote I would appreciate the chance to work for you. Please vote Tammy Maygra for commissioner Pos. 3.
