DINO's

Participating in our democracy can be an explosive experience at times; but an experience that I would not change. Being a registered democrat my entire life is something that I am personally proud of. But what I am not proud of is the actions by two of the highest ranking democrats of Columbia County or for a better term the two highest ranking DINO'S (Democrat In Name Only). While the rank and file members of the Democratic Party work hard to promote democratic values and to elect democratic people in to various offices. Our two leading DINO'S have worked hard to do just the opposite. It is obvious they need to keep their republican mirrored image in his elected position, without him their agendas may not be completed.

They expect the rank and file to canvas the streets handing out flyers on their behalf in order for them to retain their elected seats from their opposition another republican. It is common knowledge in the democratic party of Columbia County to expect these DINOS to publicly endorse another republican over a democrat which has happened time after time, it is accepted by many in the party to say nothing when this happens. It's acknowledged with down cast eyes when the two leading DINOS completely ignore the democratic booth at events and spend all of their time over at the republican booth. Nothing is said when elected Precinct people vote unanimously to endorse a democratic candidate at a meeting and then have the treasure of the CCDCC Chip Bubl and his wife Nancy who are also Precinct persons write letters to the editor in local media supporting a Republican. If they did not support the candidate they should have voted no. That action is simply spineless and is often the actions of some in the Columbia County Democratic Central Committee

Actions speak louder than words, and the actions of Brad Witt and Betsy Johnson (the DINOS of Columbia County) speak volumes. The name of their book should read How to Succeed in Politics being a DINO and The Art of Betraying the Democratic Party and its values. I am happy that these kinds of actions do not ring true for the entire Democratic Party and the affliction that has blighted our party remains in Columbia County.
