Sweatshop in Bangladesh

Sweatshops from all around the world produce products that Americans love to buy. Americans should be ashamed of themselves for supporting these companies who abuse their workers in third world countries.

The companies who are the worst offenders are: Abercrombie and Fitch, Gymboree, Hanes, Ikea, Kohl's, LL Bean, Pier 1 Imports, Propper International, and Walmart. These companies employ workers who have to work in dangerous working conditions, are paid poverty wages and have to work long grueling hours often 7 days a week.

When these workers try and form a union they are threatened the loss of their jobs or they are beaten.  These companies not only use slave labor they also use cotton from Uzbekistan where harvesting is accomplished through forced child labor. The companies listed are just a few, there are many more which also use the same shameful practices.

The footwear industry does the same thing to people in third world countries. While they suppress people, treat them inhumanely pay them very little and work them like dogs these companies are making billions in profits. Americans are lining up in droves to purchase these cheap products for a high price with little or no remorse for the people that have been abused by these greedy companies and greedy countries.

The people of these poor countries have had a few rays of hope with labor activists who have tried to improve their working conditions and pay. Unfortunately many of these brave souls have been murdered. Although there have been no arrests in these cases or even a list of suspects, but it is pretty clear where the trail would lead if investigated. Everyone knows that there will never be an investigation of these murders because the money is too big and the powerful are too strong. When you have the police and the government and powerful American companies on the sides of the perpetrators and those who fund the dastardly deeds there is little or no hope to stop these evil people.

The only way to stop this kind of abuse of people is to hurt these American companies in the place where it will hurt them the worse and that is in their profits. Stop buying products from these listed companies. Demand that America supply a list of companies who are good companies, companies who treat their workers fairly and pay good wages .Then only purchase from companies from the list.

And then start putting pressure on your elected politicians to start the process to get American companies back into the states. Do away with tax breaks for countries that do business outside of America and bring back the tariff on goods coming into America. Make it so American companies would have to produce material here, or they can leave for good and make it profitable for companies who will produce products in America with American workers.

Americans can make clothing, shoes, and toys and every other item ever made. Like we use to and for a decent price. I would rather pay more for a product made in America than buy garbage from third world countries. We need to start supporting America and her workers. If everyone was working they could afford to buy items at a higher price in turn supporting the entire economy of America.

People need to start paying attention to what is happening around the world because it is affecting America and our way of life. We are being reduced to third world conditions by the outsourcing of all our jobs while the corporations become stinking rich and gluttonous for more profit. While America declines even more. We fought against sweatshops in America, we hate child abuse and we support decent wages. I ask you, why do we support sweatshops in other countries? We have become a shameful people.

Go to "made in USA" web site and buy American made products stop financing greedy countries, and corporations.
