Words of a FOOL:

"It's unacceptable to think there's any kind of comparison between the behavior of the United States of America and the action of Islamic extremists who kill innocent women and children to achieve an objective," George W. Bush September 15th, 2006.

How many innocent Iraqi's have died because of the illegal actions of this Administration?

President Bush is asking the United States Congress to push his detainee proposal and redefine the Geneva Convention. Why? There can only be one reason, to cover his own backside. His Administration has already broken every rule in the book by torturing prisoners of his so- called war on terror. He wants to be able to obtain information from detainees (prisoners) by any means necessary.

I ask, if someone wanted information from you that you had no knowledge of and they tortured you, would you tell them what they wanted to hear or would you just continue to let them torture you?

What is the President defending here? Is it the authority to stack dozens of naked men into a pyramid to humiliate and degrade them? Choking to death a detainee? Water boarding a detainee, so that he thinks he is going to drown? Parading a detainee naked on a dog leash? Beating a detainee into submission? It is well documented that this administrations tactics in torture have indeed killed several detainees. This administration says they have thwarted dozens of terrorist attacks by their aggressive actions. I wonder?

They also say that they cannot tell you the details of these mythical terrorist attacks.

It is very convenient to be able to hide your actions behind the myth that terrorist hasn't attacked us since 2001. Does that mean as long as we have George Bush in office we will not be attacked? Hog wash! It is not a matter of if we get attacked; it's just a matter of when and where.

The problem with the approach of the Bush administration most of which have never served in the military (cowards) is that when you ignore the Geneva Convention you put yourself in the same league as those you are fighting against. During the Vietnam War the North Vietnamese called our prisoners of war, war criminals. So the prisoners would not fall under the Geneva Convention. George Bush tried the very same thing by calling the prisoners of war we have detained "Enemy Combatants" so they wouldn't be protected under the Geneva Convention. So yes, there is a definite comparison with the "enemy" that we are fighting.

We cannot as a free Nation lower ourselves to the level of the enemy and not expect to become just like them. As the intolerant fanatics of the Islamic Muslim Religion who espouse death to America and death to Israel must be rejected, we must also reject our own religious fanatics who call for the assassinations of foreign leaders or blame natural disasters as punishments for an immoral society. When we act like them we become them.

We must not change the way our founding fathers established this great Nation under the Constitution in order to protect ourselves from the threat of terrorist. If we allow any Administration to act above and beyond the laws of this land, the guise of protecting us. If we allow this we might as well shred the Constitution, for the terrorist have already won!
