26 states where abortion will be banned or restricted if Roe v. Wade is overturned | AllSides

The Beginning Of The Modern Dark Ages. Republicans Want To Take Away Women’s Rights

Abortion Banned

Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113, was a landmark decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in which the Court ruled that the Constitution of the United States protects a pregnant woman's liberty to choose to have an abortion without excessive government restriction.

Republicons War On Women 2022

Abortion is one of the most divisive issues in U.S. politics and has been for nearly a half century. The Republicons has targeted women's rights. The Republicons want to control a womens right to choose whether she wants to be pregnant or not. Whether she should carry a fetus from rape or incest, the republicans say yes a women should. Carry a fetus even if her life is in danger.

If Roe is overturned, abortion is likely to remain legal in liberal states. More than a dozen states currently have laws protecting abortion rights. Numerous Republican-led states have passed various abortion restrictions in defiance of the Roe precedent in recent years. Republicons could try to enact a nationwide abortion ban, while Democrats could also seek to protect abortion rights at the national level.

A day after a draft opinion that showed the Supreme Court would overturn Roe v. Wade was leaked, hundreds of protesters gathered on the front steps to argue for and against abortion rights. Women told  how they plan to fight any court decision and shared personal stories about abortion. And everyone has their own personal story.

Many of those there wore green, which has become a signature color for abortion rights campaigners, and wielded everything from neat, preprinted signs from Planned Parenthood to recycled cardboard covered in furious Sharpie messages.

At a rally in Seattle alongside other elected officials, Gov. Jay Inslee of Washington said he wants the state to dedicate enough resources to provide abortion services for people who travel from other states. he said, they will be welcomed, and they will be served. Mr. Inslee said he also wants to explore a constitutional amendment to enshrine abortion rights in the state.

The portrait of abortion in the United States has changed with society. Today, teenagers are having far fewer abortions, and abortion patients are most likely to already be mothers. Although there’s a lot of debate over gestational cutoffs, nearly half of abortions happen in the first six weeks of pregnancy, and nearly all in the first trimester. The typical patient, in addition to having children, is poor; is unmarried and in her late 20s; has some college education, and is very early in pregnancy.

If Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court, 26 states are likely to restrict abortion, impacting more than 40 million women of child-bearing age, according to a report.

Those states are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.

16 states and the District of Columbia have protected access to abortion in state law.

California is considering measures to make itself an “abortion sanctuary” if Roe is defeated.

If Roe is overturned it will be the beginning of more rights being taken away from all people.

Republicons are taking American women back to days of being chattel, walking 4 paces behind men, strict dress codes, no say in their lives period. Bowing to the almighty male. Well guess what you ole Republicon control freaks and number one assholes, you are going to have a huge fight on your hands if you think you  will achieve your goal of controlling every state in this country, or every women in this country, think again.

Women will continue to have abortions legal or not, yes many may die from sepsis from back alley abortions. But you will never revert women back to the days of male control. You may jail us, you may try and shame us, you may try and fine us. This is a battle you will never win.

Just because you enact a law does not mean it will be followed, just because you force your beliefs on someone does not mean they will believe as you do, just because you try and make a woman subservient does not mean she will be submissive.

This is America not the Middle East , women will live their own lives free of male dominance.

We refuse to go back to the days of the hangers. We will fight for our rights.
