“I still support Trump even though he called And supported my

death by the gallows. I Will not testify against a Republican.”

Still Willing To Suck Up To the MAGA Crowd

Former VP Pence and his lawyers are fighting a subpoena by the special counsel overseeing investigations into efforts by former President Donald Trump and his allies to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

They are planning to quote constitutional grounds as they prepare to fight special counsel Jack Smith’s efforts to require his testimony before a grand jury. Lawyers contend that because Pence was attending in his role as president of the Senate on Jan. 6, 2021, and as he headed over a joint session of Congress to certify the election results, he is protected from being forced to address his actions under the Constitution’s “speech-or-debate” clause that protects members of Congress.

They have compared Pence’s position to the one he took on Jan. 6 when he denied to go along with Trump’s unconstitutional scheme to try to overturn the results of the 2020 election, as well as Pence’s rejection of using the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office in the aftermath.

Who knows if Pence’s team of lawyer’s arguments will be successful in limiting or altogether eluding grand jury testimony is uncertain, but the Justice Department is expected to oppose those efforts and to make the case that the former vice president’s cooperation is essential for a probe focused on Trump’s actions.

The decision to try and fight the subpoena, is a complete change in position from Pence, who has previously cooperated with the Justice Department as it investigates how documents with classified markings ended up at his Indiana home after the end of the Trump administration.

Even if his protest is eventually rejected from the courts, an unreceptive stance could allow Pence to argue that he tried to fight the Justice Department, a useful stance in a GOP primary, as countless in the Republican base have grown cynical of federal law enforcement, due to Trump’s continuous barking of criticism. And it possibly could delay the special counsel probe, which Smith is working to rapidly advance.

Constitutional law professors have said that not everything a member does is protected by the speech-or-debate clause and it is debatable whether the vice president’s role in certifying the election, which involves a mix of constitutional and senatorial functions is protected.

Pence needs to do his duty to what is right for the republic. His continued support for Trump and his continued support for trumps lies, and supports the election deniers. Truly shows what a piece of lying crap Pence really is.

It says a lot about a man who would continue to support a man who called for his hanging. Trump threw Pence under the bus when Pence did his job as VP to certify the Electoral College votes. Trump has continued to bash Pence before they lost their re-election bid, and has continued to bash Pence to this very day.

If Pence was an honest and good man he would tell the entire truth, in detail to the grand jury and special counsel. But---- instead he will try all he can to limit his testimony because he would rather not tell the truth in order to try a run for President in 2024 which he will never win.
