And The EPA did not think that there would be lung problems

June, 25,2007

Ex-EPA chief Christie Whitman came under fire for allegedly putting out false information about the quality of air around the 911 site. Rep. Jerrold Nadler, a Democrat who's' district includes the 911 area, called for the hearing, blaming the Bush administration for stating falsehoods about the air quality, a move that has irreversibly affected the rescue workers, many who are afflicted with terminal illness or life threatening illness from their rescue attempts that day or from their clean up efforts, Whiteman has insisted that her statements that the "air is safe" were aimed at those living and working near ground zero, not those who actually toiled on the toxic pile.
Her agency, the EPA, repeatedly warned that rescue and recovery workers needed to wear protective gear. Since the attacks, independent government reviews have faulted the EPA for the way that they conducted health concerns for the surrounding area. Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York conducted a study using approximately 20,000 people, concluded that since the attacks, 70 percent of ground zero workers have suffered some sort of respiratory illness. A separate medical study released last month found that rescue workers and firefighters contracted sarcoidosis, a serious lung-scarring disease, at a rate more than five times as high as in the years before the attacks.
This development does not surprise me nor should it surprise any American, this is just one more dastardly deed that the Bush administration can add to their long list of crimes against the American people. Whitman's statement that the EPA meant that the air was safe for people outside ground zero and was not meant for the cleanup effort is another tactic that this administration uses, when corned in a lie, simple maneuver, that's not what I meant.
The Bush administration is the worst administration ever, in the history of this great nation. As time passes more lies, and corruption will be uncovered. I hope before that day arrives that this administration and his followers will be held accountable to the American people in the American courts. This little episode of Whiteman and the EPA should be considered as a premeditated assault against all the 911 workers including the rescue dogs which by the way have died from medical problems of the lungs. Whiteman and the rest of the EPA people involved in the cover-up should be punished.
American People, we need to take back our Government from the corrupt lying individuals that are occupying the White House. As Americans we should be voicing our outrage, instead of going about our business as nothing is going on. Sit back and think about what you as an individual has done lately to be involved in your government, what have you done to try and correct wrong doings that are being carried out locally, state and at federal levels. Remember politicians are suppose to work for your betterment have they?
