Why is America so Angry?

The division between the Republican people and the Democrat people in the United States is becoming more and more bitter. The hate which the Republican right spews towards the moderate and liberal party of the US does not stop at the federal level but is found in all small town across the country.

Here in Columbia County Oregon we are not immune from the haters. The county commissioner’s race has been a horrible, mean, angry and hateful race. One such candidate a Democrat who has received hate messages is a women, her name is Brandee Dudzic.

Several republican’s has written her filthy messages, has called her vulgar names, and has insinuated physical harm. If that is not bad enough they are spouting down right blatant lies about what she has said. Even though what they say can easily be discredited. These fools even have put the evidence, by link, which proves them liars for people to hear. Yet still continues on with their stupidly and vicious lies.

What the hell is wrong with people? We live in a small community; we should be able to participate in our system without the fear of retaliation by others. It’s ok to have disputes on issues, debates and even a down right argument at times. But never should we imply doing something to someone where they feel threatened with physical harm. Nor should those actions be sanctioned or ignored by which ever party is doing it. Each party should step in and have a talk with their fellow citizen.

Where did the boundaries go that all of us lived by? The crumbling of just plain human common sense and manners has let us since Donald Trump became president. He has torn down the civility that we all lived by and replaced it with hate and verbal abuse to all who disagrees with him on issues. Sadly his actions have rubbed off onto most of the people in his party.

What is really sad--- is that personally I thought I knew some of these people and did for 55 years, yet I didn’t know them. I didn’t know how much hate they carried in their hearts and how greedy and vicious they really are.

Nearly half the country (48%) thinks the Republican Party has been taken over by racists, a view held by 80% of Democrats. And the Democratic Party? Nationally, 44% think it's been taken over by socialists – and 82% of Republicans share that opinion. the two Americas, with Republicans encompassing white Christians who feel victimized by the cultural and social changes, and Democrats, the African-Americans, Latinos and women who are driving many of those demographic and social changes.

White Christian males are feeling threatened by strong women because these men like to control or boss women around and certainly do not like strong women who have thoughts and ideas and are  not afraid of voicing them, these are usually republican.

The partisan polarization is driven less by the fact that people love their own party as much as that they hate the other one. They really see each other as the enemy. More than half of Republicans (55%) believe it's necessary to believe in God to be a moral person, compared with 35% of Democrats who think that way. Or, the growing number of people who don’t believe in “God” period.

This is how bad it really is--Trump's own campaign barb – that he could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue in New York and there would still be a group of core supporters who would stand by him. 42% of Republicans who approve of his job performance said there is virtually nothing Trump could do to lose their vote. He has his crazy base.

Hopefully we will be done with this hatred in a few months when we elect a new Commander and Chief, but I doubt it. I fear that the base of the Republican Party will continue to be as destructive as they are now but will probably even get worse.

I don’t know what makes people so hateful towards others. I have tried to have a conversation with republicans over and over but they never answer except by calling me names so why bother? What can we do? Nothing because it wouldn’t matter what you said or did, they will never change. Hopefully there is enough people with common sense and kindness in America that we out number them and get this country back on track.
