Yikes! It’s Part of Pantygate
Many of you have heard of the recent not so recent scandal non scandal that has come into the public light this week. I am referring to Panty Gate. Panty Gate was the result of a Christmas potluck party held by the City of St. Helens, five years ago!
Someone has sent out an email and pictures showing a person wearing pink panties with matching bra over their clothes as a White Elephant gag gift. This gag gift has, according to others, been used for several Christmas parties. The person wearing the gag gift did not file any complaints, nor did any if the other city employees.
The e-mail was sent to a few newspapers, to all of Scappoose city council, except Councilmen Tyler Miller, he was not included in the correspondence. I wonder why he was excluded? It was also sent to the County Commissioners. I also wonder why it was sent to these other governing bodies, how would a different city or county board be involved in this issue?
According to the sender, a city police officer allegedly took the photo while attending the potluck.
The sender says they are a wife of a city cop, this may or may not be true. But that certainly could eliminate suspects. Why is this person just now sending out these pictures? Its been five years and who cares? Why are they trying to stir up trouble? The sender says that she wants the Mayor and City Administrator to resign. For what purpose?
This certainly is a cowardly action of the so called whistle blower, what is their agenda at this time, why not complain five years ago, what are they trying to do? What ax do they have to grind now and not five years ago? Most people refer to these types of people as a Karen.
Did the City act irresponsible, silly, stupid, inappropriate in poor taste, maybe they did in some opinion maybe not in others opinions. Is it a news worthy item? I say No! Is it funny? Sure it is, it was done in fun and with out malice. I'm sick of people trying to stir up trouble where there is none.
It is refreshing to have a Panty Gate instead of all the Penis Gates which have plagued the county.
Only in Columbia County can such stupid things continue to go on.
