Do as I say, not what I do -  You worthless Citizens

You Have A Little Dictator

Being a devious liar, hypocrite, and a bully, Mayor Massey constantly tries to squelch the ability of the public to express their concerns directed to the city. Yet Massey claims her remarks attacking retired Chief Hogue are free speech. Her statements attacking the city administrator John Walsh fall under free speech.  And the lawsuit filed by Hogue against Massey now Mayor and the city is not prudent because her comments fall under free speech because her comments were made during public comment time and fall under free speech.

The mayor’s lawyer filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit against her by Joe Hogue, the city’s former chief of police, under a state law designed to prevent frivolous lawsuits that seek to deter individuals from exercising their First Amendment rights to free speech. The law protects speech that arises out of legislative or judicial proceedings, public forums, reporting by members of the press and more.  Commonly referred to as SLAPP lawsuits, or Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation, the state’s anti-SLAPP legislation allows for an expedited and inexpensive pathway for governments to get rid of such lawsuits.

While this may sound good, and partly true, Massey claims that she is innocent in the 24/7 SHPD scandal which is not true. Her name came up in the investigation report, Massey is up to her eyeballs in the devious plan to use the SHPD operations along with prior chief Greenway to advance her ambitions to become the Mayor of St. Helens.

Dear Readers you may re-call officer Hogue was a whistle blower in the corruption which was plaguing the SHPD not only the Greenway-Massey scandal but other issues regarding some SHPD officers which were not above board. Then when Greenway retired out quickly which I believe was to protect his retirement etc in case of a suit. But if there are federal charges it won’t matter.  Hogue was placed as acting Chief- he was waiting to become the permanent Chief to continue to clean out the rotten apples in the Dept.

Unfortunately Massey had her way and rallied the rotten apples and got another officer in place as Chief and Officer Hogue retired as soon as he was screwed out of being Chief. Massey believe that getting rid of Hogue will put her in a safe position.

Not so, after many complaints to the D.A. --- Sheriff Pixley  and the D.A. felt the complaints levied against Massey needed to go to an independent legal dept. without ties to the city and are not political , so the complaints and the investigation was sent to the Justice Department for clarification and possible action. The scheming and corrupt mayor is not in the clear.

Massey has claimed she wanted Accountability and Transparency on  a Face Book page she ran, and she used it on her campaign for Mayor, bragging about the 15, 000 FOIA pages/public records she obtained from the city, on various issues. Yet as she became Mayor she does not comply with her own previous statements, public record request fail to be fulfilled, she refuses to produce to the public the entire investigation in to the SHPD- and her and Greenways scheming, she is holding out on producing the full second section of the report which apparently must implicate Massey of some wrong doings or why else will she not release it to the public.

Massey reads a proclamation at the beginning of each meeting to the public setting rules that she demands the public follow, at public comment time. No attacking staff, no mean words, be respectful etc.. all of which the public has done, yet Massey herself has FAILED in this regard. Prior to becoming Mayor… Massey and her daughter heckled the prior Mayor while the mayor was making his mayor report. Massey hollering from the back of the room, was rude, and belligerent. She disrupted the meeting. In fact she sounded like a raving lunatic.

Massey reads at the beginning of each meeting rules that she expects the public to follow because she says so. She treats the public like they are ignorant children and she is the task master. Now that she is mayor she is denying the freedom of speech from the public from making reasonable comments during public comment time. She ignores the person speaking, looks downward, rolls her eyes and strictly follows the 3 minute time frame. Cutting people off as they finish their statements. People who have participated in public comment time know the 3 minute rule is not enough time to address any pending issue.

Yet try as thy might to try and make positive changes in their community will have a harder time doing so when the mayor acts like she is above the same set of rules such as a city ordinance which she has broken numerous times and as she tries to squelch citizens First Amendment rights to free speech.

Good Luck to the citizens of St. Helens, you have a little dictator on your hands.
