Trump Says  Military Action Is Not Off The Table To Conquer, Steal, and/or Bully Greenland

Greenland

Greenland's untapped mineral wealth

Greenland has over 1,100 identified mineral sites, but there are only two active mines and just eight active licenses for mining. More than 600 sites contain minerals designated by the US to be essential to its economy and national security. Mineral occurrence does not indicate the economic viability of extraction.

Approximately 80% of Greenland is covered with ice. And mineral extraction or just about anything in the Arctic can be five to 10 times more expensive than doing it elsewhere on the planet.

The idea of turning Greenland into America’s rare-earth factory is science fiction. It’s just completely crazy. You might as well mine on the moon, and in many regards its worse. There is no infrastructure and limited manpower. Greenland a territory of NATO ally Denmark.

Greenland is open to business with the US and see no reason for aggression by the US when we could sit down and do some transactions

The cost to do business in Greenland is a huge not so profitable venture. If there was a pot of gold waiting at the end of the rainbow in Greenland, private businesses would have been there decades ago.

The climate crisis has caused melting ice and rapidly rising temperatures in the Arctic, leading some to hope for new economic opportunities. However, it’s too early to say this will be enough of a game-changer to overcome the environmental challenges of mining in Greenland. While ice melt has opened up some shipping routes, it has also made the ground less stable to drill and raises the risk of landslides.

With Greenland’s stringent environmental regulations would add expense and difficulty to widespread mining. Those regulations reflect the local population’s desire to keep the environment pristine. If Trump managed to do way with the regulations he could find himself very unpopular with the Greenland people. Somewhat like he is unpopular all around the world.

A poll taken in January 2025 found that just 6% favor Greenland becoming part of the United States. The vast majority of Greenlanders, 85%, said they do not want that to happen.

Trump and his comments has soured Greenland and Denmark against the US, the US is now considered a bully as they were once considered our ally and friends. Thanks Trump you have ruin yet another friendship.

Trumps statement, we need Greenland … It’s so strategic right now,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One earlier this month. “We are going to do something on Greenland, whether they like it or not. If we don’t do it the easy way, we’ll do it the hard way.

Trump is on a quest to make an empire for whom? Himself? He acts as if he is the East India Company, invading and taking over other countries, to rape and pillage their natural resources. All to benefit his investors and himself.
